As principal and founder of Mayerson Marketing & Public Relations in 1993, Nancy possesses more than 30 years of expertise developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication efforts for public and private agencies, primarily for organizations who want a high profile in Ventura County. Prior to launching MMPR, Nancy held senior public relations positions in agency and in-house settings. She also worked as a newspaper journalist and photographer. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arizona.
Nancy serves on the board of directors of the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County, board chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oxnard and Port Hueneme, is a founding board member of the Public Relations Society of America’s California Gold Coast Chapter and serves on the CLU School of Management Dean’s Advisory Board. She also served for many years on the boards of the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce, Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, United Way of Ventura County and the Ventura County Civic Alliance.
MMPR was recognized for its family-friendly atmosphere with the distinguished Work/L.I.F.E. Organizational Leadership Award in the small business category. The award is sponsored by Project Work/L.I.F.E., an initiative of the Child Care Planning Council of Ventura County that aims to strengthen families by providing work/life education and needs assessment to local employers.
Nancy was named NAWBO the Community Advocate of the Year and has been recognized by Pacific Coast Business Times for many years as one of the top 50 women in business and as a top marketing professional in the Tri-County region.
Sarene has been with MMPR for 10 years, using her experience in journalism and marketing to assist clients in a wide range of public relations, marketing and social media campaigns. She is the co-leader of Tasting Jerusalem, a virtual, global cooking community that has been featured in the New York Times, Boston Globe, Ventura County Star and other publications. Tasting Jerusalem has a strong presence on Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, and as the hashtag #tastingjrslm on Twitter and Instagram.
A 22-year Camarillo resident, she has written for the Ventura County Star, Santa Barbara News-Press and 805 Living magazine, among other publications. Currently she is the editor of Edible Ojai & Ventura County magazine, which gives her direct contact with many of Ventura County West’s restaurants, wineries, artisans, growers, businesses and events.
She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is on the board of the Public Relations Society of America’s California Gold Coast Chapter and Slow Food Ventura County.

A Simi Valley resident for more than 22 years, Leanne holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations and advertising from California Lutheran University. Leanne leads social media and digital marketing at MMPR, seamlessly integrating the new media tools and measurement analytics needed to keep campaigns current on new media platforms.
Prior to joining MMPR, she contributed to an extensive social media campaign benefitting the Special Olympics of Ventura County, and assisted in the day-to-day operations at KCLU-FM, the local NPR affiliate. She also worked on high-profile national publicity campaigns for Grammy award-winning artists, renowned authors and film at Rogers & Cowan, entertainment public relations firm in Los Angeles.

With over 20 years’ experience in the communications industry, Mary hold a master’s degree in graphic communications management and technology from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to joining MMPR, Mary was a senior account executive for the international financial printer, Bowne, Inc., managing all aspects of client production and satisfaction. During her time at Bowne, Mary helped many clients convert from traditional media to emerging online technologies, setting up customized solutions that the client could maintain.
Mary continues to keep up with the ever-evolving social media world, helping clients define their online marketing programs, providing original, relevant content and campaign concepts that integrate and support the overall public relations program. Mary began her career as a copywriter and worked for Scholastic, Inc., and CBS/Columbia House in New York.
A Newbury Park resident for 10 years, Mary and her family enjoy all that Ventura County offers, especially local events, kayaking, hiking, the beach and museums.
Julie has more than 20 years of journalism and public relations experience and a strong a background in broadcast journalism. She has been with MMPR eight years, working closely with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, Santa to the Sea and Channel Islands Harbor. Through her marketing and public relations work with these West County nonprofit clients, Julie has developed connections with the local media and gained insights in the communities near her Ventura home.
Prior to joining MMPR, Julie worked as a public relations specialist at a community college. She has also worked as freelance reporter, television news reporter and producer at top-rated stations.
Julie has a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from San Diego State University.
